Client Profile
This client is a large-scale date processing and packaging company that processes approximately 120,000–130,000 metric tons of dates annually. Its products are exported to more than 48 countries worldwide, and the company serves over 14,000 local date farmers in the United Arab Emirates.
The company has extremely high standards for the food contact safety, UV resistance, and supply stability of protective supplies used in orchards.
Challenges Faced by Customers
1.During the ripening period, date clusters are exposed to intense desert sunlight and high temperatures for extended periods. The UV-resistant protective mesh bags previously used had a lifespan of less than one harvest season; they were prone to aging, becoming brittle, and cracking, resulting in high fruit loss due to bird and insect damage;
2.The existing suppliers were concentrated in Europe, resulting in high procurement costs per net bag and a long sea freight delivery cycle of up to 45 days. During the peak harvesting season spanning two calendar years (August–October each year), there were instances of stockouts while waiting for supplies.
Proposed Solutions
We supply custom-made HDPE monofilament date protection mesh bags for our customers, available in two standard sizes: 70×90 cm and 80×100 cm. These bags are made from brand-new, food-grade HDPE resin with added specialized UV-resistant masterbatch. They feature uniform mesh openings and come with white drawstrings, and are available in green—the color commonly used in the Middle Eastern market.
During project implementation, we provided the relevant test reports in accordance with their review requirements and established a mechanism at the Port of Qingdao to stockpile goods in advance during peak seasons to ensure on-demand delivery during the harvest season.
